This fabulous Antique Suffragette curb bracelet was made Circa 1910. The chain links are adorned with two rich green Peridot’s, two violet Amethyst and two creamy Pearls.
Suffragettes liked to be depicted as feminine, their jewellery popularly consisted of Violet, Green and White colours which were chosen to counter the stereotypes put forward by opponents that they were mannish or shrieking! Green is for Give, white is for Women and violet is for Votes!
The curb chain is beautifully made and stamped 9ct Yellow Gold on the clasp. Held together by a lovely 9ct Gold heart padlock which is fitted with a safety chain too.
This is a very sweet bracelet, and a wonderful tribute to the movement.
