Andrew Logan is a British sculptural artist who crosses cultures and embodies artistic fantasy in a unique and unprecedented way. He’s considered one of Britain's influential artists of international stature, he enjoys creating intimate small-scale work, in addition to the larger public art works for which he is known for.
'Home Is Where The Heart Is' was created by Andrew Logan in 2021 and exhibited in November last year at Sugar Street Gallery in Venice as part of a group show, (No) Place Like Home, to celebrate the conclusion of the 2021 Venice Architecture Biennale.
This fantastic sculpture is now available to purchase. 'Home Is Where The Heart Is' is one of Andrew's smaller pieces and would make a stunning addition to your home or art collection.
The main body of the sculpture is a pink heart created using Andrew Logan's signature cracked mirror glass. These mirror fragments are mostly pink with a few red pieces as well as four yellow ones. Amongst these fragments there is a large amount of found media including seven small figurines of people, a cat figurine, a ten cent coin, a large bead with a flower pattern, a red mask bead, a number of stone pieces, a metal cross decoration and even a fake finger. In addition to these there are also a number of beads and crystals including; a large heart shaped facetted bead a large red crystal surrounded by two rows of silver crystals, tear shaped crystals, three pearls, a row of brown wrinkled beads around the base, a string of round pink beads, and many more crystals and beads in various shades of pink. One side of the heart features a large iridescent arrow head shaped piece of metal. All of these are set into place using pink resin and the edges have been filled with pink glitter.
The whole heart is mounted on top of a wooden board which has been covered with mirror and inscribed with Andrew's signature as well as the name of the sculpture. The edges are covered with a layer of silver glitter. This is a stunning piece of work with many small details, the longer you look the more you see.
The plinth/platform measures 23 by 26.5 cm at its widest points. The total height of the sculpture is approximately 19cm, and it weighs 136kg.
Due to the high value, weight and delicate nature of the sculpture it requires specialist shipping.
